The San Diego Humane Society receives bulk pet food donations on pallets that need to be re-bagged into individual portions to be distributed to community members. The pet food supports over 1000 pet owners weekly and is growing exponentially with the increasing needs throughout our community. The items are distributed through their Community Pet Pantry at their campuses and food distributions throughout the county.
Volunteers help re-bag/box pet food, cat litter, and pet treats at assembly line style workstations. They also may help with organizing items and cleaning up. Volunteers may have the opportunity to go on a tour of the San Diego Humane Society campus and see animals at the end of their shift.
Attire: Closed-toe shoes are required. This opportunity takes place indoors.
Bring: Snacks and water bottle
Signing Up: All volunteers MUST sign up through the San Diego Humane Society's website - link will be provided as the project gets closer. Up to 12 volunteers can attend.
