We meet once a month to share updates and upcoming events, hear from a speaker representing a community organization, and to connect with one another. Upcoming events include volunteering and networking opportunities. A light dinner will be provided.

The speaker for this meeting will be Carlos Del Carmen, President of City Heights Rotaract Club. We are one of the two sponsoring Rotary clubs for City Heights Rotaract, a membership type of Rotary for young professionals. Carlos will share their club’s updates and accomplishments. Carlos is a Public Defender Investigator for the County of San Diego.

We will also hear from Bill Ashman, a member of Rotary District 5340’s Don’t Wait Vaccinate Committee and La Mesa Rotary, who will share an update on what their committee has been working on.

At this meeting we will be collecting non-perishable food items for PATH. This Fall, PATH will distribute hundreds of Thanksgiving meal kits to individuals and families impacted by homelessness to ensure that everyone in our communities can enjoy a special holiday meal. The following items are most needed by the people they serve:

• $20 grocery store gift card for a turkey

• Quick bread mix

• Boxed stuffing mix

• Mashed potato mix

• Boxed mac and cheese

• Cookie/cake/brownie mix

• Canned gravy

• Canned vegetables (corn, yams, green beans, etc.)

Prospective members are welcome! Email us at least 24 hours prior to the meeting at mverotary@gmail.com to let us know you’re coming. If you aren’t a member, your first meeting is free. We ask $10 to cover the cost of dinner from members and visiting Rotarians.
